Season 4, round 4
(March 1st 2005)

eh vs cC (0-3)

This was a fun and tight match and it was nice to meet cC again. Too bad we couldn't meet each other with our best players, but I guess that's the point of reserves. We certainly seem vulnerable without Gandos, especcially when I play like I did today. Well.. I did win close to 50% of the rounds, but that doesn't help much when I'm dead last in the rest of them :P So hurry back from your holidays Gandos ((-:{

We started on the rally map. This was a nice map, which (for once) didn't favor analogue devices. The elk hunters started this match with Kiff, Nanteq and me; crazy carz with Smallboy, Bandit12 and Kaly. I won the two first rounds, but only the first gave us success. The next two points went to us, and with a 3-1 lead I started believing we could win a rally without Gandos... How foolish of me, because now we started to make more mistakes, while cC drove better and better. So suddenly the score is tied at 4-4. Then I drive a horrible round. So, when Nanteq is winning and I can secure the 5th place to get the point, I decide to cut at the finish. Of course I crash on the side of the finish and lose my 5th spot. It doesn't help much winning the next round, because cC did a great team round: 6-4. We take a 1-2-3 in the next round, but it's too late. GG cC for winning this tight fight 7-5! Personally I was disappointed in myself in this round. Even though I won a few round, they weren't good, and my best time was 2 seconds behind my best (arrrgg :P)

Next: snow. We felt more confident in front of this map, because we expected to be better here. Echo took Kiff's spot, while cC exchanged the whole team, and played with dup, Pegasus and joob. This time cC got the best start, winning the first point on a closely fought round. I had about a car length lead, so I decided to take the sc at the end. BIG MISTAKE... I crash in the tunnel and give cC a point we otherwise would have gotten (I really gotta stop taking this chances on cuts :P). We get the next one though: 1-1. Then we start to make lots and lots of mistakes (meaning a even more than cC :P) and cC leads 3-1. Then we were finally warmed up and fed up of our bad driving, and start to reduce cC's lead. So soon the score is 5-4 to cC. The joob gets disconnected and has to restart the game or his computer or something (it took a few minutes), so we had to wait. Did cC plan on this because we were on a roll? (kidding :P). Anyway, when he got back we get back to our old crash habits, and cC take the last two rounds. Echo managed to hit first hole in one of them (the one after about 5-6 sec) and I didn't make it longer than to the frist turn in the last round. So cC wins 7-4. GG! They were simply more consistent than us. Again I was waaay behind my pb, and got only one 55 round... So.. not my night :P

Last, but not least: speed. Nanteq leaves his spot for Kiff and Jaypee, Smallboy and Olink drives for cC. This map was to be tight all the way, with most of the rounds won by me or Smallboy. This map was all about getting high speed up the first hill (which usually only one or two players managed...). There was a lot of beatiful crashes on this map (I think Nanteq took replays). It went to 6-6, and the last round was a nail-biting one, but even though I beat number two with 2 seconds, cC was 2-3-4 and they grapped this map 7-6. On this map my driving was desent, and the tight fight was really fun (-:

So no luck for us tonight (I guess we had it coming after last year's 2-7, 7-6, 7-6 win :P). Congrats to cC for a little better consistency.

cC wins 3-0 (21-15 (7-5, 7-4, 7-6)). GL in the next matches (-:

Nanteq did his best driving since he joined the team. It's great to see you improving mate (-:

I hope you have a good holiday Gandos. But hurry back! We are lost without you... lol
