SL3 round 2: eh vs C-K

Last season the Cereal Killers won 3-1, so this time around the Elk Hunters were out for revenge. Unfortunately we did not get the great match we were hoping for. C-K asked to play the match at 21:00 two days before the match (thanks for asking early). Then on the match day only Maniaproof and Bat were present. We waited till 22:00 and then decided to play the Island map 3vs2.

Maniaproof had not expected to play this map I think, and was not able to keep up with Bat, Tiggr, Nanteq and myself. Still, mistakes on this map gave enourmous effects to the result (where did the respawn points go?). Times varied from three drivers finishing in 53.xx to only one player finishing below 1.00.xx. I guess this was partly because both teams knew that eh would win, which allowed all players to go for good times. Nanteq and I had some very good fights with Bat; often answering a good time by the other player by driving even faster in the next round. Result: 7-1 to eh.

For Coast Carl was sporty and stepped in to take the last C-K spot untrained (after downloading and installing extreme ^^). On this map Tiggr, guom and I had complete control, even if Tiggr and I were very disappointed in our own performences (I didn't even make a 59 ). I guess C-K had planned for other players to drive this map. 7-0

On bay we finally got a good match with some tension. eh took the first point after C-K mistakes and the fact that Carl didn't finish (can't blame him since he didn't know this 2-minute map before the match ). Then Bat got into a great mood, and drove two good rounds. Maniaproof didn't make mistakes either and C-K took the lead 2-1. I was on a crashing streak and worked very hard with myself not to get frustrated. In the next time Maniaproof crashed to give Rustray the 2nd place and the round ended in a draw. Now I finally managed not to push to hard at the same time as Bat started making mistakes (it's weird how the one afftects the other ^^). Two rounds later eh was leading 3-2 and Maniaproof asked if I never made mistakes (already forgetting that I before this had four fatal rounds). Next round I screwed up on the last lap with a great lead (note to self: stay focused you moron), but Tiggr and Rustray to take 2nd and 3rd place. At 5-2 Carl decided to leave (he had already pushed his bed time at this late hour). This caused some confusion and crashes, ending in a point for C-K with Bat winning before me in 2.05 or something with noone else finishing. eh won 7-3 after a very good fight between me and Bat on the last round.

It took some time, but at least we had fun when we first started. I hope we'll be able to get some real revenge for SL2 next time around!
