LE6 Round 5: eh vs TnT
Both teams faced ghost in round 6, so we decided to play this match a week later because we had a lack of players (don't say there aren't any benefits from ghosts ).
We started on desert, a nice, fast map by Wity were it was very hard to stay consistent. TnT played with grobi, Ellow and Maxou. Gandos, t!m and I played for eh. The first round was a bouncing one, where all crashed, several after the last CP. The first to cross the line was grobi and TnT got the point. In the next two rounds we got some more crashes, and each team took a point. At this point I finally came to my senses, and did a 56. My team mates did what was needed and it was 2-2. From that point on I was consistent on 55, and I felt in good control, as noone else managed better than 57. This was clearly what tipped the map in eh's favour. Grobi got a couple of disconnections at 3-2 and 5-2, so he left and iZi joined. All the eh's made mistakes at 6-2 to give TnT a last point before finishing with a 1-2-3 to win the map 7-3. A GG to Ellow for being the 2nd best player on this track with very consistent driving!
Then we went on to the classic LE2-Everest snow map from Vortex. This one is renowned for a cool SC and perhaps the hardest tunnels in league history. Both teams continued with the same team and this map started as the last one, with eh making mistakes and TnT taking the first point. Gandos missed the cut, and who knows what t!m and I did early on... TnT had three players in front entering the last tunnel. I passed one during the tunnel and had the last two just in front of me thinking: "I have a chance here". 2 seconds later I hit a corner Luckily for me, the TnTs crashed too and I cruised in to a 1.09.00 . In the next round Gandos was again in front of me at the cut, and again he cut too much. I drove further with three TnT's on my tail. But again the TnT's crashed close to the finish, and this time it proved fatal. 1-1. Now Gandos stopped crashing and won in a 1.06. I won the next 4 rounds before Gandos set a PB in the last. Thus, the map ended 7-1 to eh.
On the lap map Nanteq and Wity joined me. It started with Nanteq sliding off the track and me winning in front of iZi and Wity. In the next round Nanteq was on a good run, but on the last round he splashed into the water and I won in front of Wity. TnT got their only point in the 4th round, when the first thing that happened was that Nanteq and I flew off the track and crashed in some surprised birds. We fought side by side and almost caught up with the field, but then we crashed again. And then we repeated the sequence before we both crashed in the last turn and barely made it across the line. I won the next round with a respawn before finishing it with a low 1.09 with my team mates as 2nd and 3rd.
Thanks for a fun match TnT!
This was not a good match from the elk hunters. We were rusty after a long break. Hopefully we'll be back on top by next week!
