LE6 Round 1: eh vs DnD
Last meeting in LE3 ended 21-3 to DnD, so this was sort of a revenge match for the elk hunters. At least it was for me, the only hunter to play both matches
We started on desert. DnD with Smoke, Slamdunk and Vegeta. eh with Gandos, t!m and me. The first round looked like a win for eh, but then I crashed from a win at the last jump and DnD took the lead. In the next round t!m and Gandos made things even again. From this point on Smoke started an impressive display, with many low 1.10s. He had a line over the first "hill" that no other could follow, and after that it was very hard to catch him. So while Smoke was running away in front, the rest of the players fought for the other places. At 4-1 I decided to take the cut on the last jump, knowing it was difficult. But I was 5th, and had to pass two DnDs for eh to get a point. But for once I got a good landing, and passed Slamdunk. It wasn't enough though , as he reclaimed his spot by an inch at the finish line. At 6-1 I was finally able to stop crashing so much. Untill this point in the match I was the worst player out there, but from now on eh started driving as a team. So even though Smoke was loose in front, eh took 2-3-4 or 2-3-5 and got the score to 6-4 to DnD. But then DnD finally finished it. Congrats to t!m for a good first match for us!
We went on to rally. Pagaisu, Nanteq and Wity joined the game. Smoke was consistent here too, and made some low 59s with his keyboard. But this was a map where eh almost had control. By the time we got to the tunnel I was usually in front, and Nanteq often move up to 2nd ot 3rd place towards the end of the map. With Wity securing the points eh quickly got a 5-0 lead. Then Pagaisu got into the mood and DnD reduced the score twice. But eh finished it to make it 7-2. All rounds were won in 58 or 59 on this map.
Then Slamdunk and Sylv joined Smoke for the snow lap map, while Gandos came back for us. We mרררררררררed a little while the DnDs drank a little, and we were ready to go. Smoke made a good first round, followed closely by Gandos. Nanteq and I crashed quite a bit, and DnD got off to a good start. The next round was won by me in front of Gandos. The scenario was the same for the rest of the rounds. Smoke, Gandos and I had a battle for the top position, and most rounds were won in 2.17 (Smoke and I made one 2.16 each). So after close rounds, the points kept rolling in for eh. Gandos managed to crash in the finish post at 3-1, but still managed to save the point (barely). I also have to mention that Nanteq made some spectacular crashes while he was in the lead. The final score was 5-1 to eh.
eh wins 2-1 (4-7, 7-2, 5-1). GG to DnD for a fantastic match! We had to push all the way for the points. GL for the rest of the season!
