SL1: Round 6: eh vs CDD
For the first time since round 1 we had all the best players available (except maybe Kiff on Island). Nanteq had his new cd, and Gandos was back in shape. We really needed to win this match, so we trained quite well. CDD on the other hand had a huge player shortage, and was barely able to show up with three unprepared players. They said something about another game called TMO taking up their time...
We started on Coast with guom, Gandos and I for eh and Zooz, wiadp1 and miLCzek for CDD. The only one from CDD able to keep up with the elk hunters was Zooz, so this was a one way street. I started very well winning the four first rounds with low 55's (I promised Zooz I would be self-centered in this report ). Then I had a crash, but guom stepped up and took the win in front of Zooz. After that I had a lead untill the tunnel, where I slid a little to give Zooz the lead. He said thanks and won the round on a pb. Finally Gondos took the last round to make it 7-0.
So we went on to Island knowing this was a very technical map where lots of practice was needed to drive well, so even though Zooz often had a good start, he always crashed somewhere down the line. Nanteq took guom's place. As on the first map I got the first win, followed by my team mates. From then on we the eh players changed on winning (I lost my focus a bit from time to time, and so did my team mates), usually with 1-2. Zooz made a couple of 2nd spots, but the score was an another easy 7-0.
Last was the Bay lap map. We kept on going. I won 4/5, often after having my team mates around me for 2 laps before they lost focus after knowing the point was secured. The 3rd and the 5th round was quite close, after both Gandos and Nanteq made heavy crashes. But since CDD only managed to get two players to the finish line, we were saved. I was not impressed when one or two of the CDD players in a couple of rounds stopped and started talking (on the first lap!). Even if you make bad mistakes you should have enough respect for your opponents and team mates to at least shut up till the first player finish.
We had a fun match even though it was one-sided. Zooz really showed some skill even though he wasn't very prepared. It was nice having our best team on the tracks again, and it was really nice to WIN!! This was above all a team effort!
Score: 3-0 (19-0)
Was I self-centered enough here Zooz?
