SL0 Round 6: eh vs FTMT²

For the second time in about three weeks the elk hunters and FTMT² met in a league match, this time in the Sunrise league.

We started on Island, which was a quite technical track. Mlkior, Furious and Oliver played for FTMT², while the eh team consisted of Gandos, Nanteq and myself. The match started well for us, as I won the first round in front of Gandos. In the next round Furious won, but I and Gandos followed quite close to him. Nanteq secured an eh point. The 3rd round was won by Mlkior, but the elk hunters had the consistency at this point and took 2-3-4. Then... finally, did FTMT² get their first point, and this time it was a solid 1-2 victory. At this point Nanteq and I started making some silly mistakes. The two next rounds were won by FTMT², one of them with a 1-2-3 win. Now my team had had enough of bad driving, and we started focusing again. Or maybe it was FTMT² who made more mistakes with some crashes by Mlkior and Oliver? We got the next point to make it 4-3. Then we had a nice spontanious ejection of players from the server. I wasn't too happy about it, as I think we were about to win the round it happened Razz When we continued I got my second win of the day, and we got the point. Furious wanted it different in the next round with the best time of the match to make it 5-4. Gandos and Furious fought for the victory in the last rounds of the map, but eh got the points needed to win the map 7-4. Furious was by far the best player and won most rounds. I think the other two FTMT² players also won one tiem each. Gandos and I won a couple each.

Next we went on to a nice coast map, where guom came in for Nanteq and Spliff came in for Mlkior. This map started well for us, and we got the first two points with Gandos in great shape. FTMT² came back to make it 2-1 after crashes by Gandos and guom. This map was also close, but I was more confident that we would win this one than I was on Island. eh seemed to have better skills over 3 players than FTMT². FTMT² did in most rounds have a player fighting for the top spot (usually Furious I think, but not sure), but eh had two there and another fighting for the 4th spot. Gandos was the best player on this map and won most rounds. Furious also won a couple. I made the only 59 of the match, but other than that I was very inconsistent. In the end eh won the map 7-3.

Last, as always, we played the lap map. This time on bay. Mlkior and Evolm replaced Furious and Spliff for FTMT², while Rustray took the spot guom had on the eh team. In the first round the FTMT² players made many mistakes. Gandos drove well in front with a good run. I made an early mistake, but still came to the finish in second place, some 6 seconds behind Gandos. This was the pattern in most of the rounds. Usually no more than 3-4 players managed to finish beneath the time limit, and I think the bad/nasty jumps on this track were to blame. Evol drove pretty well, but he often made a mistake in the last half. One of the rounds in the middle was quite funny, as Gandos and Evol fought hard in front with good driving for 1,5 rounds. Then they both disappeared from the CP tables at the same time. Too bad I made my normal early mistake and didn't have a chance to see what happened. I'm sure it was a great double crash Razz Because of this, the round ended with a slow winning time, and most players finished. eh was clearly better than FTMT² on this map, and won 5-0. Gandos won 4 out of 5 I think, and was consistent and made good times. I finshed 2nd or 3rd in all races, but always with mistakes on the jumps. Rustray also finished most of the races, which can only be said for Evol on the FTMT² team.

eh won the match 3-0 (7-4, 7-3, 5-0)

Thanks for another good and fun match FTMT²! Thanks for being so patient with Nanteq and his server problems! I had a lot of fun in this match, were I actually had to focus for us to be able to grab points. GG to you!!!!! GL further down the TM road!

AAssie
