LE5 Match 3: eh vs FTMT2
Let's see if I can remember something from the match.
We started on Snow, a classic map that those of us who played in season one looked forward to playing on again. FTMT2 started with Toubib, Ale-X and Yoda. The elk hunters started with Gandos, Kiff and myself. We got off to a good start with Gandos and me taking the first two rounds with first and second place. Then I started messing around a bit (missing some jumps etc...), while the FTMT2 players started to drive better. So the score changed to 3-2. But from then on out, Gandos was very consistent and even set a pb in one of the rounds. Kiff also started playing well, so that all I had to do was to finish (which for some reason suddenly was difficult enough ). Final result of the map was 7-2 to eh.
Then we moved on to desert where Rustray stepped in for Kiff. Unfortunately I forgot to save screens in this match, so I don't remember who played for FTMT2 (sorry about that. "GL & HF" to myself for you to forgive me (joke from the match)). Toubib was awesome on this map, with lots of 1.01s. Gandos had many good fights with him and got several wins. Rustray and I crashed a lot though, giving our opponent one easy point after another. The rest of the FTMT2 also played consistently and well. I had some good rounds now and then, and even won a couple of rounds. But to our unfortune, we timed it so that when I performed well, Gandos had one of his few bad rounds. In the end the score was the same as on the first map, only to the other team: 7-2 to FTMT2.
So the rally was to be the decisive map. Rustray left the match and Nanteq entered. Yoda, Toubib and moun played for FTMT2. This was a closely fought map, and all players had some really good rounds. All had some more or less bad rounds too... lol. I was one of them. Two times when I was in front half way to the finish when I did some grinding on the castle walls. One of them was quite beatiful, if I may say so, but it was probably not the best time to do such stunts . FTMT2 started best and gained a 4-2 lead. But then things changed. SFO will probably relate to what happened next from last week in Sunrise: Nanteq and especcially Gandos started lowering their times significantly. During the last rounds Gandos drove one 1.14 after another. Nanteq had some good 1.15s, but he was inconsistent. I tried to keep up as best I could, and had many close battles with Toubib for 2nd and 3rd place (depending on whether Nanteq crashed or not ), usually only separated by some hundreds of a second. The elk hunters came back from 2-4 to win the map 7-4.
The elk hunters won the match 2-1 (16-13).
This was just as a TM match should be: fair, fun, jokes, tight battles, good driving, some crashes (and in the end an eh victory ). Thanks to FTMT2 for a fun and exciting match!
